Dr Naomi Elton

    Naomi is a systemic therapist and a career coach for doctors. Naomi has had a wonderful career as a child & adolescent psychiatrist. When her own children grew up, and upon retiring from the NHS, Naomi decided to devote her time and expertise to working systemically with clients within their relationships. The role of psychiatrist had narrowed and Naomi continues to be a firm believer in the power of talking, listening and fine-tuning of relationships.

    Naomi trained at the Maudsley Hospital and Gt Ormond Street Hospital and worked for most of her career in Cambridge, including several years as clinical director leading children’s services for her NHS trust. Naomi is familiar with many different types of difficulty – depression, anxiety, eating disorders, behavioural problems, ADHD and autistic spectrum conditions. Naomi set up many innovative services including anger management and multi-family groups in schools and health in-reach in a secure children’s home. With her clear-thinking and empathic style, Naomi is able to help clients with many types of dilemma.

Cath Jones
Family and Systemic Psychotherapist

  • Cath is a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist as well as an accredited Systemic Supervisor. She is registered with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association of Family Therapy (AFT).

    Cath has over 30 years’ experience of working with children, young people and their families that have been affected by distressing or challenging relationships, life events or circumstances. In the last 18 years she has practiced as a qualified therapist, within NHS and Local Government Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). This has included consulting to Social Care Teams and Foster Carers as well as providing therapy for Children that are Looked After. In addition, Cath has worked as a Family Therapist for a charity offering residential neurorehabilitation to children with an acquired brain injury. Families have come from diverse backgrounds and circumstances seeking support on a variety of issues including children’s neurodiversity (ADHD/ASD), relational conflict, developmental trauma and attachment difficulties, low mood, anxiety, as well as significant loss and grief. Cath has also been a tutor at the Institute of Family Therapy and held her own private practice.

Cathy Taylor
Systemic Psychotherapist

    Cathy is an experienced Systemic Psychotherapist and Family Therapist, as well as an accredited Supervisor and Tutor. She is registered with the United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP) and with the Association of Family Therapy (AFT).

    Cathy has over thirty years’ experience working in Mental Health NHS services with children and adults presenting with a wide range of life experiences that have affected their emotional well-being and relationships. These have included experiences of loss and trauma, physical health problems, developmental, psychiatric, learning and communication difficulties. Cathy trained initially as a Speech and Language Therapist. After also qualifying as a Systemic Psychotherapist she worked for many years in both roles. For the last seven years she has focused entirely on Family Therapy. Her NHS work is currently with National Deaf Child and Mental Health Services.

Manuel Navarro Gimeno
Systemic Psychotherapist

  • Manuel Navarro is a systemic and family psychotherapist and clinical supervisor with more than 13 years of experience working with NHS Adult and Children and Adolescent services, treating a number of conditions such as depression, psychosis, anxiety and eating disorders. Manuel has a special interest in working with families with a young person or young adult suffering with an eating disorder. He also works with families and couples experiencing a wide range of relationship difficulties focusing on family members as an invaluable resource to the young person’s recovery.

    Manuel has experience of delivering non-violent resistance (NVR) interventions with parents struggling with children and adolescents with challenging behaviours, and currently works in the National and Specialist Parenting Team in the NHS.

Jemma Meeson
Specialist Systemic Psychotherapist

  • Jemma is a systemic psychotherapist with over ten years experience working across multiple private and NHS settings. Her specialism is in Eating Disorders and she has worked at The National Adult Eating Disorder Service where she was trained in the New Maudsley Method by Dr Janet Treasure. More recently she was also employed as a Highly Specialist Systemic Psychotherapist at the National Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Inpatient Service. In private practice Jemma sees individuals, families and couples. Jemma has undertaken Emotion Focused Therapy training under Dr Greenberg and is also trained in EMDR. She is currently in the research phase of a doctorate at the Tavistock

    Jemma founded The Family Treatment Service in 2021 after the birth of her third child. She wanted to create a place where people could access experts in mental health in a welcoming environment, and where consultants were proud to work. She also does pro bono work for the refugee council and a local domestic violence service.

    Fotis Papadopoulos is a Family, Couples and Systemic Psychotherapist trained at Tavistock clinic.  He has worked in generic and specialist (eating disorders and neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism) NHS CAMHS settings, as a highly specialist family and systemic psychotherapist.  He has also worked in the 3rd sector (couple therapy and family therapy with adults) and inpatient (tier 4) CAMHS settings (a private eating disorders hospital and an NHS inpatient service for under-13s).  He has specialist training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) and Family Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders.


    His areas of interest include: Eating Disorders; OCD (young children); ASD (parent sessions); early onset psychosis (in children); somatic presentations; depression & anxiety (relationally informed); step-family challenges; attachment difficulties; parenting; sibling relationships; life transitions; adult families; schooling; special needs impact on mental health; self-identification; self-esteem; Couples therapy.
