Shanay is an experienced registered Mental Health Nurse who has over 13 years experience working in adult and child and adolescent mental health. Shanay is also a Cognitive behavioural Therapy (CBT) practitioner and was trained at the Anna Freud Centre for children and families at UCL.
Shanay is passionate about delivering high quality treatment and care to families and young people, she prides herself on supporting young people to navigate and develop their own sense of self.
Shanay is experienced in delivering evidence based treatment Cognitive behavioural Therapy for a number of anxiety disorders in accordance to the NICE guidelines such as; generalised anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, trauma focused, depression, self harm and phobias.
Shanay has experience and knowledge in working with young people who have high levels of perfectionism traits and she also adapts her approach to match the needs of the individual. Shanay is experienced in providing CBT for young people who have Autism and trailering the therapy using a range of techniques, that enables them to engage and use Cognitive behavioural therapy in their own environment.
Shanay also works with wider networks that support young people, such schools, other clinicians and social care. She is able to offer support, advise and provide risk management plans to these networks.
Shanay incorporates an open, nurturing and impartial therapeutic environment.
Shanay is available on Mondays and Tuesdays between 5 and 8pm; and on Saturdays between 10am and 12pm.
