Speech & Language Therapy
If your child is experiencing difficulties or differences with any aspect of their speech, language or social communication, speech and language therapy offers a fun, evidence based approach to boost their skills and confidence.
Our highly qualified and experienced Speech & Language Therapists regularly work with children and young people who experience a wide range of difficulties, including:
Understanding the language they hear around them and in the classroom · Expressing their needs and meaning through language. · Making speech sounds. · Socially communicating with other people and making friends.
If your young child is a late talker, therapy is a fun, play based way to boost their language development. We empower families and education staff to provide a stimulating communication environment for children, supporting them to express their needs and ease frustration and tantrums.
We can provide a detailed assessment and tailor made therapy programmes that can be delivered in our clinic, at your home or in your child’s educational setting.
We collaborate closely with other professionals who may be involved with your child, such as psychologists, occupational therapists and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs) in schools and nurseries.
We work with specific client groups such as children experiencing:
Stammering/dysfluency · Selective mutism · Communication difficulties arising from Autism or ADHD/ADD · Dyslexia and language processing difficulties · Speech sound disorder/ Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia · Global Development Delay arising from neurodevelopmental conditions.
Group Therapy
Sometimes children learn best when they are with other children. We offer therapy groups for all age groups, from early social skills groups for preschool children, lego therapy for school aged kids and social problem solving groups for older children and teenagers.
If you are interested in group therapy for your child, please contact reception for further information.
