Zara is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in supporting children, parents and their families. She has previously worked for the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, supporting babies and young children, and at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust, helping adolescents who self-harm, and families who had a child struggling with an eating disorder. Zara is also a qualified Family, Systemic Practitioner.

Throughout her time in the NHS, Zara has developed a special interest in supporting parents with babies and children. She has expertise in understanding toddler and child brain development, and draws from the most up-to-date and current research models. She is experienced in supporting parents to feel confident about themselves and the way they raise their children. She also runs parent and child groups, offering strategies and advice on how to manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Zara believes that all families deserve the opportunity to be heard, understood and supported.

In her work she takes the time to listen and understand someone’s story, tailoring therapy to the specific needs of the family/parent/child. She draws from various psychological approaches such as mindfulness, compassion focussed therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, family therapy and psychodynamic approaches.

Zara is also a supervisor and teacher – she has lectured at various Universities, supervised student research and offers consultation to other professionals. She receives regular supervision to guide her thinking and accesses training to enrich her mind, body and soul.
