Clinical Psychologist
Becks is a Clinical Psychologist who has a wealth of experience of working therapeutically with children, families, and adults. Alongside her work at The Family Treatment Service, she works within the NHS. She has previously worked in a local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, supporting young people with mental health concerns and at St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, supporting children and parents to manage acute and long-term health conditions. She currently works for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust supporting babies and families on the Neonatal Unit.
Becks is an experienced, thoughtful Clinical Psychologist who utilises playful approaches to ensure that each child, or whatever age, feels comfortable in speaking to her. She is passionate about supporting everyone in the family and believes that supporting parents is essential, as this has positive outcomes for the whole family. Becks is qualified to utilise a variety of different psychological models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and she draws on systemic approaches. She has worked with young people who have additional needs such as Learning Disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Conditions and long-term physical health conditions.
Becks is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Association of Clinical Psychologist (ACP-UK). She receives regular supervision and attends training to guide her thinking, keep up to date with the evidence base, and to ensure that she is offering the best possible service to anyone that comes to see her. She also provides consultation services to other professionals and has lectured on Clinical Psychology training courses.
