  • Helen Fielder

    Helen is a Speech and Language Therapist working as a highly specialist level in the NHS as well as carrying out some work in the independent sector. She has over 30 years of NHS experience and offers assessments and therapy for preschool and school aged children who have speech, language and communication difficulties. Helen aims to improve children’s speech and language skills whilst keeping therapy fun, and practical as well as motivating and stimulating. She believes in working alongside parents and key staff to develop the skills that will enable children to develop and use their communication functionally in everyday environments.

    Helen has worked with preschool and primary school aged children with speech and language difficulties in clinics at children’s homes and in mainstream nurseries and schools as well as at a resource base attached to a mainstream school. Helen is highly experienced in working with children presenting with a wide variety of speech, language and communication difficulties. Helen’s special interests are in autism spectrum disorder, social communication difficulties and developmental language disorder.

    Please note: Due to other commitments, Helen is only able to offer language assessments to contribute to a multidisciplinary assessment and the ADOS-2 as part of the multidisciplinary assessment at present.

  • Leah Jones

    Leah is a highly experienced speech and language therapist who has worked in both the private and public sector (NHS and Local Authority) for over 10 years. Leah has supported children and young people presenting with a range of speech, language and communication needs. She is able to support pre-school and school aged (primary and secondary) children/young people. Leah has focused much of her work on supporting individuals presenting with social communication differences/Autism. Her expertise in this field has enabled her to develop a deep understanding of the unique communication challenges faced by children on the autism spectrum. Leah is passionate about using a neuro diversity affirming framework to develop her client’s communication skills, increase their social interactions, and enhance their overall quality of life.

    Throughout her career, Leah has worked with children of all ages and backgrounds. She has a wealth of experience in developing individualised treatment plans that address each child's specific needs and goals. Leah is also skilled at working collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure that her clients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.

    Leah is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in the field of speech and language therapy for children. She regularly attends professional development workshops and conferences to expand her knowledge and refine her skills. Her dedication to ongoing learning and improvement is a testament to her passion for helping children with speech, language and communication needs reach their full potential.

  • Kerri Forbes

    I am a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with a wide range of experience working with children and young people aged 2-11 years old with varying special educational needs. My area of specialism is Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) and language difficulties, but have an interest in supporting Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and working with those with Selective Mutism. Since graduating from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 2018, I have worked for the NHS, independent schools and for the council as a SLT.
